How To Use Apple Cider Vinegar For Your Hair

Apple cider vinegar is probably the most under valued hair product despite its amazing benefits for all hair types.

Why is apple cider vinegar a better alternative to regular conditioner?

  • Apple cider helps to balance the ph of the hair after shampooing
  • Apple cider has been found to help with dandruff and a dry scalp due its anti fungal properties.
  • Apple cider vinegar helps with softer hair and aids in hair growth
  • Apple cider vinegar helps to clarify scalp and remove residue from the hair and adds shine to it.
  • Apple cider vinegar tames rough hair and helps to fight split ends

Bonus tip: If you tend to develop an itchy scalp after braiding your hair you may be allergic to the chemical used to treat the extensions for braids. Before braiding your hair with extensions, add ACV to a bucket; 1 part apple cider vinegar to 4 parts water. Dip braiding hair in it and let it sit for a bout 1 hour. Take the hair out and rinse thoroughly. Allow to dry and then use as you would any braiding hair.

Here are steps to using Apple Cider Vinegar for healthier hair and scalp;

  • Mix a quarter cup of apple cider vinegar with a cup of water.
  • After shampooing, pour the mixture over your hair evenly, working into your scalp.
  • Let it sit for a couple of minutes.
  • Rinse it out with water.

If rinsed out thoroughly the smell of Apple Cider Vinegar does not linger, Although it may take some getting used to if you are just getting started on swapping your regular conditioner for Apple cider vinegar rinses.
